How to upgrade Unified Workspace

Problem:  Need to know the process of how to upgrade.



Prerequisite(s):
  • webNetwork 6.0 or higher*
  • 64-bit OS
  • Valid license for version trying to upgrade
  • Schedule downtime for upgrade


Solution(s):  Upgrading has the following basic steps.

IMPORTANT - always check the upgrade notes prior to upgrade.

  1. Read upgrade notes and contact support if you have any questions
  2. Download latest software and license file
  3. Place files on all servers
  4. Identity all Unified Workspace servers and role of each server (server+relay or relay-only)
  5. Shutdown all relay-only servers from Server Management console (https://127.0.0.1:8090)
  6. Shutdown all loader+relay servers from Server Management console (https://127.0.0.1:8090)
  7. Backup the "stoneware" or "UnifiedWorkspace" folder on all servers
  8. Apply the EXE/BIN file to all servers
  9. Follow prompts of installation wizard
  10. Startup your main loader+relay (Relay Central server)
  11. Login to Server Management console (https://127.0.0.1:8090)
  12. Go to Directory tab and verify schema was updated successfully
  13. Go to Wizards tab and run Upgrade wizard
  14. Startup any other loader+relay servers
  15. Startup any relay-only servers
  16. Test applications and features
