Stoneware Environment Check Utility

Stoneware Environment Check Utility

Problem:  Need to run Stoneware Environment Check (Env Check) for pre-installation, troubleshoot issues or general health check of directory and DNS.

Solution(s):  Once utility is installed and launched, you will find three options to choose from on the File / Test Type menu.  If you already have webNetwork installed and configured, then click IMPORT Settings button and find your StonewareLoader.xml (stoneware\config).  This will pull your settings from your working webNewtork system and perform the test with those values (make sure to add password).

Active Directory Preinstall Test:
  • Performs checks on your Microsoft AD environment and DNS configuration
  • Best to install utility on the Server (Loader)

eDirectory Preinstall Test:
  • Performs checks on your Novell eDirectory environment and DNS configuration
  • Best to install utility on the Server (Loader)
  • Choose this option if trying to test with OpenLDAP

Firewall Test:
  • Checks the ports between a webRelay and Server (Loader)
  • You will install a copy of utility on both the Server (Loader) and the webRelay
