Unable to start Relay Service

Unable to start Relay Service

Question:

The Relay Service will not start on the server.  The /stoneware/config/webNetworkTrace.log file shows the following FATAL errors:

FATAL (06/16) 09:09:57 [com.stoneware.server.Kernel](Thread Thread-97): Unable to start service: Relay[relay-coetestporwr1] - Relay failed to start. - Caused by: Unable to load Relay configuration from the Object Manager: DN_OF_RELAY_OBJECT
FATAL (06/16) 09:09:57 [com.stoneware.server.Kernel](Thread Thread-97): * Turn on the com.stoneware.relay.managers logger to get more information on why the Relay will not start.


Solution:

  1. Access the 8090 console of the server.
  2. Select the Logging tab.
  3. Set com.stoneware.relay.managers to DEBUG.
  4. Restart webNetwork on the server.
Once webNetwork is completely started, the /stoneware/config/webNetworkTrace.log will have more information as to why the Relay Service was unable start.
