Troubleshoot webPass SSO

Troubleshoot webPass SSO

Issue

Applications setup for webPass are no longer submitting credentials.  How do I go about troubleshooting?

Solution

Verify the Extension is installed in the browser and active.
You should see the webPass "key" button on the browser's toolbar.

After authenticating to UW, using Firefox or Internet Explorer, click on the webPass button from the browser's toolbar.
Verify that you see the application you are trying to SSO into.

If you do not see the application listed, it's possible the webPass SSO form isn't assigned to your user object.

Open webAdmin
  1. Expand Applications Admin
  2. Browse to the webPass SSO object and verify the assignments.

Check webPass is not disabled for all users.
  1. Open webAdmin
  2. Expand Customization Center
  3. Select the SecureCloudAccess-Profile.
  4. Select the Options tab.
  5. Verify the webPass: Disabled checkbox is not checked.

WebPass can also be disabled for specific users, vie the Extranet tab of an OU, Group, or individual user.
Unfortunately, the only way to check, is to look at the user's object, any assigned groups, and OUs the user's object is located in.

Check that the trigger URL on webPass SSO form matches the URL to the application's login form.  If the application's login URL changes, the SSO form will need to be updated to match.
