Issue:
Due to the recent WannaCry ransomware attack, many customers are asking if Unified Workspace can be configured to utilize SMBv2 or SMBv3 to communicate to their Windows file shares. Thus allowing them to disable SMBv1 on their servers.
Solution:
As of release 6.5.2.19, Unified Workspace now has an option for SMB 2.
To configure your File Nodes to use SMBv2 instead of SMBv1, after upgrading to 6.5.2.19+:
Open open the webAdmin Dashboard.
Expand the File Services Admin folder.
Select the file node you wish to change.
Change the Data Provider option from CIFS to SMB 2.
Click Save.
When the File Node is next reloaded by the system, it will begin to communicate with the share using SMBv2.
