Slow logins to Terminal Server

Slow logins to Terminal Server

Customer Asked :

When logging into a box with Windows 2003 R2 through Terminal Services, every time you log in it says "Applying Personal Settings" and takes a long time to do it. Previously it did it the first time and not subsequent. Is there any information on what causes this now. It makes the TS apps very slow to use considering login time.

As well have you figured out any way to get rid of the Trusted Server popup box for every terminal server session?

Answer:

This can happen if the profiles are Roaming profiles. Also check the event logs for any Userenv or Scecli errors. Another area to check is %systemroot%debug\usermodeuserenv.log this log may also contain information about the delays. Readhttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/221833/en-us for information on debugging the login process.

The trusted server popup is a side effect of RDP 6. microsoft placed that prompt in there as a security check. We know of no way to get rid of that.
