Slingshot installation error swlauncher.exe is not marked for installation

Issue:

The user receives an error launching Slingshot webApps.

The error is a Windows error message:

Error 2753
The File ‘swlauncher.exe’ is not marked for installation.


Solution:

The webNetwork Slingshot utility is already installed on the workstation, and there is a file or registry issue that is preventing Windows from installing the newly downloaded copy over top of the existing install.

Uninstalling the existing webNetwork Slingshot utility from the workstation should resolve the issue.

Uninstall the webNetwork Slingshot utility via Programs and Features.
  1. Open the Programs and Features control panel in Windows.
  2. Right-click on the webNetwork Slingshot program and choose Uninstall.
  3. When prompted, click Yes to uninstall the webNetwork Slingshot program.

Log into your Unified Workspace and launch the Slingshot based webApp.  This time the webNetwork Slingshot utility should be able to install properly and launch the application.
