Server stops periodically

Server stops periodically

Every few days the webNetwork server (aka loader) stops. Start it back up and it will run for a few more days.

Suggestions

1) anti-virus server like Symantec 10 which has issues (with windows) and causes box to run out of ram and then windows kills java

2) Have relay logging turned on and using hsql for db and have no rotation. /stoneware/hsql shows a HUGE logging.data file.

3) webNetwork.lax file does not have proper memory settings configured for the max mb.

If it is #1, disable AV program and see if the problem still exists. We have had 4 customers that upgraded to that latest Symantec version and had issues even on non UW servers.

#2, set relay logging to a rotation or shut of logging on relay object if not used. Copy /stoneware/hsql/orig/logging.* to the /stoneware/hsql directory.

#3 change the memory requirements.

You can also run a program like Process Explorer to get a handle on the amount of ram, the processes running, the number of Threads used and such for the box in general and the webNetwork process. This is available from www.sysinternals.com
