If you need to load a Google Drive document into Word then you will need the Drive For Office tool from Google.

Once installed it will allow a user to load / save documents from Google Drive.
Upon the first launch, it will ask for your Google credentials.
Only use this on machines where each user logs in and has their own profile because it asks for the users Google credentials and creates a trust relationship that users profile.
