Change Session Timeout and Idle Lock Settings
How to change the default Session Timeout settings for Unified Workspace.
The global setting for Session Timeout and Idle Lock are located in the 8090 Management Console.
- Browse to the 8090 Management console of your servers.
- Select the Settings tab.
- Change the values for Session Timeout and/or Idle Lock (These fields must have a value, they cannot be left blank).
- Click the Save button.
- Restart the webNetwork service on the server for the change to take effect.
This must be done on all Access Control Servers (Loaders), as they are the servers that connect to the directory and control authentication.
You may also override the global setting via OU, Group, or Individual Users.
- Open webAdmin
- Browse to an OU, Group, or User object.
- Select the Authentication tab.
- Set the Session Timeout and/or Idle Lock.
- Click the Save button.
The specified users will now use this setting, instead of the global setting.
To see what a user's Session Timeout and Idle Lock settings are:
- Open webAdmin
- Browse to the user's object
- Right-click on the user's object, choose Show User Access.
- Click the Submit button.
- Look for the Session Timeout: and Idle Lock Timeout: fields. They will show values and how they are being inherited.
