Basics of creating a profile from an existing profile

Basics of creating a profile from an existing profile

Issue

Admin would like to make a copy of an existing profile to assign to specific users.

Solution

These instructions assume the admin is making a copy of the SecureCloudAccess-Profile.
Replace installdir with the folder name Unified Workspace is installed in on your servers.
Examples: c:\stoneware or c:\UnifiedWorkspace

Copy the profile's folder in the server's OS:

On the Relay Central master server.
  1. Browse to the /installdir/webserv-sec folder.
  2. Make a copy of the SecureCloudAccessProfile folder.
  3. Rename the SecureCloudAccessProfile copy to a folder name that corresponds to the name you will give the new profile.  Example: SecureCloudAccessProfileCopy.

  4. Sync the copied folder to all of your UW server using Relay Central, or by manually copying the folder to the /installdir/webServ-sec folder of all the servers:

Copy the profile object in webAdmin Dashboard:

On the Relay Central master server.
  1. Open webAdmin Dashboard.
  2. Expand Customization Center.
  3. Right-click on the SecureCloudAccess-Profile, choose Copy Profile.
  4. Enter desired name copied profile.  Example: SecureCloudAccess-Profile-Copy
Leave context as Use same context.
  5. Click Next.
  6. Click Close on the success dialog.
  7. Refresh webAdmin Dashboard.

  8. Expand Customization Center.
  9. Select the copied profile.
  10. Change the Directory name to match the new name you created in the webserv-sec folder.  Example: SecureCloudAccessProfileCopy.
  11. Change the Assigned Primary Users to those you want to use the copied profile.
  12. Click the Save button.

Test logging in as one of the test users.
The URL in the browser's address bar should show : https://portal.example-cloud.com/secure/SecureCloudAccessProfileCopy/FinishLogin.jsp indicating that you are using your new SecureCloudAccess-Profile-Copy profile.

If you accidentally changed the admin user to the new profile and something does not work , you can always go into the 8090 Management Console to reassign the admin user to the original profile.
  1. Browse to the 8090 Management Console.
  2. Select the Settings tab.
  3. Click the WebNetwork Administration Launch button
This will get you into Tree Root view of the webAdmin Dashboard where you can undo the changes that caused you to not be able to login under normal methods.
