The customer wants to know what directory structure required for restore in a disaster recovery situation of both loader and relay?
Stoneware is self-contained in the stoneware directory, so as long as you back up that directory on each server you will have the entire CODE base Be sure that your backup is done with webNetwork down OR your backup agent can backup open files.
The code among all stoneware servers is pretty much identical, except for the config directory, this has a few files that are unique to each webNetwork server to launch and tell it what directory object to use to start things up.
The only other thing on a windows box may be re-instating the windows service.
You can do that with this
file.
It will allow you to re-add webNetwork to the windows service list.
You are able to move stoneware to a new box by simply putting the stoneware
container back on the new box (same os brand and same dir structure and same IP)
and start right up. If any of the 3 variables (os, dir structure, IP) change
then a few config files have to be modified along with a few objects in the tree
to reflect the change.
After that, the rest of stoneware is stored in your Directory services. So not
only the Stoneware container where you store the stoneware objects but the
users and groups and ou’s that interact with stoneware. So a good directory backup
is important.
