Authentication error while trying to complete installation wizard

Authentication error while trying to complete installation wizard

During a new install, the customer completed wizard #1 and UW/webNetwork restarted and then started wizard #2.  It asked for a username and password and that was entered but it continued to prompt for the password.

This can happen for a few reasons.

1) The username and password entered is wrong. Verify the username and password especially the LDAP notation for the admin username.

2) The admin account you used is not really a full admin. Verify that this user is not being blocked by some policies. The first time UW/webNetwork starts up, it must be able to extend the schema of the tree using this account.

3) The ldap server you selected is not the proper server for your ad tree or does not have LDAP enabled or you selected ssl when ssl was not running or ldap server requires ssl and you did not turn that on UW/webNetwork.

4) If you are using Microsoft active directory, check the faq entry for prepping ms ad.
