Some antivirus products can interfere by being overly aggressive with their real-time scanning and slow things down. Others can see our temporary files are suspicious and try to delete them. Others have hooked into the network card and caused network communication issues because they are trying to decode the network packets and anything they don't understand gets deleted.
It is best to configure the Antivirus with the following exclusions:
- The installation folder, and all subfolders.
Example: c:\stoneware or C:\UnifiedWorkspace - java.exe.
- On Windows, webNetwork.exe.
For those who have deployed an AD/LDS environment please include these folders to the exclusions list above:
- AD LDS – C:\Program Files\Microsoft ADAM\UnifiedWorkspace
- AD LDS – C:\Windows\ADAM
